It's Don's Opinion Has the CA Chiropractic Board Overstepped Its Bounds?
Because my wife and I have California licenses, we
received a letter from the California Chiropractic Board in February. In
this letter, they stated that they now have the authority to give
“citations” for violations. They listed “excessive treatment” as
a violation. What is excessive March 12, 2001
RE: “Important Notice” dated 1-29-2001 Dear Sir/Madame:
As licensed Chiropractors in the State of California, we received
your Notice dated 1-29-2001. This appears to be another case of
government getting bigger and bigger and usurping extra authority.
Giving citations is for Law Enforcement agencies. We note that
“Excessive treatment” is listed twice (double jeopardy?) under
Section 317(d) and Section 725.
Could you please define “Excessive Treatment” under these two
Sections for our 67,000 readers? Sincerely, Don Harrison, PhD, DC, MSE
