Validity of the PosturePrint™ Established
By Denise Perron, BS, DC
Dr. Perron presently is Vice President of Business Development for Biotonix, a technology company in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She received her DC degree from Palmer College in 1985. Before deciding to help advance Biotonix‚s entry into healthcare markets, she had a high volume chiropractic practice for 15 years. For the past 8 years, Dr. Perron has been a member of the Board of Directors of Somiper Inc., which owns assets in the biotechnology, pulp and paper and aviation industries. She has lectured on Postural analysis and protocols of care at many different chiropractic colleges and universities, including Parker, CMCC, UQTR, as well as medical institutions such as Stanford, and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Since 2002, Dr Perron has also been involved with lecturing to Chiropractors and healthcare practitioners in Japan.

In the last issue of AJCC, I announced the launching of Biotonix’s PosturePrint™ internet based computerized postural analysis system with written report. Biotonix is a Montreal, Quebec, Canada technology company.
At the recent WFC meeting in Toronto in the fall of 2004, a Chiropractic College announced that it would begin using the Biotonix PosturePrint™ in their College Clinic. The Clinic Administrators saw (1) the research data that will be generated for posture projects, (2) the detailed scientific posture analysis as rotations and translations of the head, rib cage, and pelvis, (3) the corrective posture exercises generated, and (4) the student credits for PT from the structural rehabilitation program provided in the PosturePrint™’s written report.
Just after that announcement, several other Chiropractic College Administrators approached me for extra information on the PosturePrint™. I was very excited about the interest sparked by the College’s presentation.
Since that time, I have had beginning discussions with Dr. Gerard Clum, President of Life-West, and Dr. Lucy Macnaught at MacQuarie University (Sydney, Australia).
Multiple research projects have been started on the PosturePrint™ system. One that was recently completed at the University of Quebec at Trois Rivieres’ Biomechanics Lab and submitted to a Computer Journal reported that the PosturePrint™ can determine all rotations and translations of a mannequin head to an average of less than 2° and 2 mm, respectively. The PosturePrint™ is the first computer system to provide accurate clinical measurements of rotations and translations of the head, rib cage, and pelvis in standing human posture.
