Help Us Locate Allen Botnick
Quackwatch Lawsuit Update

After writing an untrue and unprofessional attack on CBP® and the Harrisons, Allen Botnick, DC gave his false article to Stephen Barrett, MD to place on the Quackwatch web site. Now when we go to serve our lawsuit against all three parties (Barrett, Quackwatch and Botnick), Dr. Botnick is hiding out. We need your help to locate this man. Please contact Don Harrison drcbp@idealspine.com) or attorney Jim Turner Jim@swankin-turner.com if you have information as to his whereabouts.
At the end of September 2006, CBP® filed a lawsuit against Quackwatch, Quackwatch owner Stephen Barrett, MD, and Allen Botnick, DC. The language of the lawsuit claims that “The article contained false statements about plaintiff and the form of chiropractic he founded....” It is claimed in the lawsuit, that untrue and misleading information was provided to Stephen Barrett, MD by Allen Botnick, DC. Interestingly, Barrett, who is a Psychiatrist, has no license to practice and claims no income since 1993, but he is always represented by some high-power law firms. On paper, Barrett’s only asset appears to be his Quackwatch web sites. It seems that Barrett has condemned everything that is not orthodox medicine, including Chiropractic, nutrition, massage, etc. on his Quackwatch web site.
Attorney Jim Turner of Washington DC is representing CBP®. Previously, Attorney Turner had been on attorney teams that have been involved with and won law suits against Barrett. He estimates that the law suit against Barrett, Quackwatch, and Botnick will cost in the neighborhood of $200,000.00. This law suit is the first step in a future law suit against certain insurance providers, who have been using Barrett’s Quackwatch claims to deny chiropractic claims and deny DCs from being in-network providers.
CBP® needs your help and support; we have only attained 20 percent of our funding for this lawsuit ($42,000 donated so far), so please make a donation to help us shut down Quackwatch.
