Clinical Anatomy Accepts CBP Research

by Deed Harrison

Recently, the editor of the Clinical Anatomy informed me that our manuscript had been accepted for publication with minor revisions. Our manuscript is entitled “Do Sagittal Plane Anatomical Variations (Angulation) of the Cervical Facets and C2 Odontoid Affect the Geometrical Configuration of the Cervical Lordosis? Results from Digitizing Lateral Cervical Radiographs in 252 neck pain subjects.” authored by Harrison DE, Haas JW, Harrison DD, Janik TJ, and Holland B. No correlation of facet hyperplasia and cervical curvature was found.

This will be our first CBP® Nonprofit publication in this prestigious journal and we are proud to state that our manuscript is in press there. This manuscript is one step in a series of many CBP® biomechanical investigations aiming to determine methods and parameters that affect cervical lordosis. Previously, we had (a) investigated the reliability of the flexicurve instrument in the cervical region (came out poorly), (b) investigated the validity of the flexicurve instrument for the cervical region (did not correlate to x-ray measurements), (c) correlated pain and cervical lordosis to determine a clinical useful value, and (d) modeled the cervical spine.
