Kiss and Make Up?? Not
Me.
By Don Harrison, DC, PhD, MSE
While I was representing the ICA at the FCLB Annual meeting in Denver in May
2004, I was discussing politics with a past president of the ACA. He told me
that he had recently visited with several ICA officials and was happy to note a
“forgive and forget” and “move forward” attitude concerning the Life
University’s loss of accreditation and near closure.
I told him that was news to me because I had
just come from the ICA’s Annual Meeting in Washington DC, during which the ICA
Representative Assembly (members from each state) voted unanimously (including
me) to look into ways of suing CCE over CCE’s treatment of Life University.
Additionally, he seemed to indicate “all was
well that ends well” because the one person at Life who needed to be removed was
removed. I got pretty hot over that one. I told him that it was hard for me to
believe that he thought that the ruining of thousands of students’ lives, the
ruining of hundreds of faculties’ lives, and depressing the economy of the whole
city of Marietta was worth it in exchange for getting Dr. Sid ousted! That again
proved to me that the whole Life U. accreditation affair was on purpose.
Imagine the audacity of the ACA and CCE/COA to
believe what they did to Life U’s accreditation is justified because they got
rid of the one person that they felt was an irritant to them.
When I mentioned to this past ACA president
that the Federal Judge ruled in Life U’s favor, incredibly he stated to me that,
“Judges can be bought.” I wonder what would happen if he said that to the
Judge’s face? Never mind the fact the Judge cited in his injunction that of
the12 complaints by CCE, 9 of which Life completed/fixed, the 10th one was
impossible because it was/is against Georgia law for DCs to draw blood, the 11th
was caused by CCE’s demands that Life fire faculty and hire DC persons with BS,
MS, or PhDs and Life did as they asked but no one qualified was applying, and
the 12th item, Life was working on.
CCE was found in the wrong by the Georgia
Judge, but these ACA and CCE people keep claiming they did nothing wrong. Also,
CCE was found in the wrong by the Wisconsin Judge. Isn’t legally wrong
considered a wrong anymore??
You want to “Kiss and Make up”?, then do
something about the people who were directly responsible for this travesty. It
is time to revamp CCE and COA. Lester Lamm and his whole crew at COA must be let
go and a new COA team developed. Since I have several university degrees, one of
which is in Education, I volunteer for Lester Lamm’s COA job.
