Corrective Chiropractic: Holiday Health Toll

The holiday season can be one of the unhealthiest times of the year for most Americans. From stressful family gatherings, holiday office parties, and dinner feasts, to traveling, lounging in the lazy chair, and countless hours spent at the mall – it can all add tremendous amounts of emotional and physical stress to our bodies.

Studies show that Americans are prone to disease, fatigue, pain, and depression between mid-November and the start of the New Year. That’s why five of the top ten New Year’s resolutions involve getting healthier and happier.

Unfortunately, most people don’t realize what a HUGE role a healthy spine plays in the overall health and wellness of their minds and bodies; otherwise they would take better care of it. Misalignments in the spine – due to poor posture lounging in your lazy chair, gaining an extra 5-10 pounds eating holiday meals, carrying countless boxes and bags throughout the mall, or lifting your nieces and nephews – can exert excessive and dangerous amounts of pressure on the delicate nerves coming out of the spine.

Excessive pressure on the delicate nerves, diminish the flow of vital nerve energy from reaching your organs, creating pain, disease, dysfunction, and fatigue.

You can think of your spine and nervous system as the holiday lights on your house. Now imagine a rat, mouse, or gopher taking a bite out of a section of wiring, cutting electricity to half of your masterpiece. That’s exactly what happens to your organs when misalignments in the spine cut nerve energy from reaching them; they go into a state of dysfunction and eventually disease.

Chiropractic BioPhysics or CBP – the most scientific and researched corrective chiropractic care – aims to eliminate nerve interference by realigning the spine back to its normal shape. The majority of patients under the care of a CBP chiropractor not only report an immediate end to their neck or back pain, but more importantly feel vibrant, energized, and notice their overall health improving every day.
